Overclock An Amd Athlon Xp 2100 & A Soyo Kt400

The Athlon XP processor can be easily overclocked on a Soyo KT400 motherboard.

Overclocking is the process of using the motherboard to override the default speed of the processor. The Soyo KT400 is a high end motherboard for Athlon XP. The Athlon XP 2100+ actually runs at 1.73GHz with a 133MHz bus. The bus speed is what you will use to overclock the processor.

Instructions

1. Turn on your computer and boot in your operating system. Download SuperPI on your computer.

2. Right click on the Super_pi_mod-1.5.zip and select "Extract here" or "Extract all."

3. Reboot your computer and press the "Del" key to enter the BIOS.

4. Navigate to the "SOYO COMBO SETUP" using the arrow keys and press "Enter."

5. Change the "Frequency 1MHz Stepping" from 133 to 140 for a speed of 1.8GHz.

6. Press "Esc" and press "Y" to save the BIOS settings and exit.

7. Let your operating system start and go where you saved the SuperPI program.

8. Double click on the SuperPI program and select "30M" and press "Start." Let the program run. If the program crashes, go back to step 3 and change the lower value by 5. If the calculation runs to its end, go back to step 3 and increase the value by 10. Check the stability of the overclock until you find the best speed for your processor.
