Nikola Tesla
Yeah, you read that title correctly. Wireless Electricity was first invented by Nikola Tesla in 1899 when he transferred over 100 million volts of electricity wirelessly 26 miles and lit 100 lightbulbs and an electric motor. You might be wondering, if he could do that in the 1800's, why don't we do it now? Well, wireless electricity is an exciting new technology finally being realized commercially later this year! It's being called WiTricity. You'll be able to sit any electronic device within range of a eCoupled wireless power product (I'll get to that in a minute) and charge or use the device. And no, I know what you're thinking, and it's not magic. Or... is it?
Instructions
1. First of all you'll just have to select the eCoupled wireless power product that you would like to use. They are releasing a desk, for example, that you can set whatever devices need to be charged on. They're also more than likely going to release more of a "hub" sort of power device, just to be sat near your electronics. They're also releasing some kind of plate looking device, which you can just set your cellphone or whatever on.
2. Next all you have to do is select the objects to be charged. Doesn't matter if they're high or low frequency devices, the eCoupled technology is pretty sophisticated. It can be used to charge laptops, cellphones, kitchen appliances, ipods, pretty much whatever you can imagine. It's some really cool new technology!
3. Just set the object to be charged near, on top of, or next to the charging device. Congratulations! You're using wireless energy.
