Replace A Power Switch

Replacing a computer's power switch is easier than you think.

The power switch on your computer is a rarely thought of but crucial component to your system. The power switch initiates the electricity flow to the rest of the system. If the computer's power switch fails, it could render the computer unusable. Replacing the power switch in your computer can seem like a daunting task, but it is actually a fairly simple process.

Instructions

1. Unplug the computer from it's power source and remove the access panel.

2. Remove the plastic bezel from the front of the computer.

3. Follow the wires coming from the power switch to where they plug into the motherboard. Make note of where the wires are connected before removing them from the motherboard.

6. Replace the plastic front bezel and close the computer case.

7. Plug the computer back into it's power source and press the new power button to confirm that the computer boots properly.
