Install Sli On An Asus Motherboard

SLI can greatly increase your graphics rendering capability.

NVIDIA's Scalable Link Interface (SLI) is a hardware solution that allows you to use two graphics cards in tandem, resulting in very powerful display capabilities. SLI essentially uses the processing power of both GPUs to render graphics at a faster speed and greater detail than would be possible with a single GPU solution. ASUS was one of the first motherboard manufacturers to support SLI upon its release, and, as such, their implementation of SLI is easy to set up and use.

Instructions

1. Power down your computer and disconnect any cables that are connected. Remove the side panel of the case (remove any screws holding it on) and place it aside. Turn the computer on its side so that the exposed motherboard tray is facing upward.

2. Install each graphics card into the appropriate PCI Express port. Press the card down until you hear a click and the card is firmly in place. Repeat the process for the second card.

3. Connect the appropriate connectors from the power supply to the rear or side of the graphics cards. If you're unsure of where to connect them, consult your graphics card's documentation for details. Press the connector in until you hear a click.

4. Connect the SLI bridge across the two cards. Align the ports above the SLI connectors in the graphics cards, and press down until the SLI bridge is flush with the graphics card's PCB.

5. Replace the side panel and reconnect any cables you may have removed. Power on the PC and point your web browser at the NVIDIA downloads page (see "Resources"). Download the appropriate driver file to your desktop. When the download is complete, double-click the program file to start the installation process. Reboot your PC when prompted.
