The Installation Process For An Asus M4a78te Motherboard

The Asus M4A78T-E is an upper-midrange motherboard designed to support AMD's AM3-socket processors using a DDR3 memory interface. This motherboard has a full ATX form factor and requires a full ATX case, as it will not fit in most ATX mid-tower cases. The M4A78T-E motherboard is the central hub for all data flowing into and out of your computer system. You can install this Asus motherboard into a computer case to create an AMD socket AM3-based desktop computer.

Instructions

1. Insert the ATX faceplace that came with the motherboard into the back of the computer case.

2. Insert the motherboard gently into the computer case so it lines up with the metal standoffs inside the case.

3. Fasten the motherboard to the case with screws using the Phillips screwdriver.

4. Install an AM3-socket processor into the CPU socket by lifting the metal lever on the socket and then gently inserting the processor. Secure the processor to the socket by lowering the metal lever until it locks in place.

5. Insert DDR3 memory into the memory slots on the motherboard. Gently press the memory into the slots until they snap into place. The memory is notched so it can only be inserted one way.

6. Install a hard disk drive and, optionally, an optical drive in the computer case.

7. Connect the power cables from the power supply. Connect the data cables from the motherboard to the devices, such as the hard disk drive and optical drive, if present.
